The 9th International Conference on Mycorrhiza (ICOM) was held at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic from July 30 till August 4, 2017 and was organised by Dr. Jan Jansa and colleagues under the overall topic “Mycorrhizal functioning: from wilderness to megacities”. The conference provided a global platform for an open exchange of knowledge on mycorrhizal symbiosis, from its anatomy and development, underlying molecular mechanisms, mycorrhizal ecology and functioning, and its implications for the ecosystems including human society. Researchers from all over the world shared their experience by contributing 520 oral and poster presentations as part of 5 plenary sessions, 12 concurrent sessions and 5 workshops.

Sarah Symanczik represented the fertiledatepalm project with a poster entitled “The project fertiledatepalm – bio-inoculation and organic matter management for sustainable date palm propagation and cultivation”.
